Apparently the house was in the 4800 block so it's a stretch that remains would be at the bus turnaround unless they used them as fill.

Yeah def. seems like a stretch seeing as how there were about a dozen other homes between the "Castle" and the intersection in question. Its more likely that the rubble was used as fill to build up the embankment. Still curious though as to how that particular stone ended up there.

They could have dumped rubble from anywhere. It might be from the castle or it might be from any other building on the block or it could have been dumped off a truck from anywhere.

I never did find a source for this,

at Artesian and North.

Those were dug out of a lot on Artesian by a crew digging foundations for new construction.

I noticed them while walking past, but could never find evidence of a building nearby that would have been big enough to sport them.

Yeah, that's quite a way from the station which is visible in the background (that is the Blackstone Branch to the left with the dome). FYI the warming shelter at teh 47th Street station was burned two or so weeks ago. The platform has been rebuilt and is once again fully open (dunno if they are going to rebuild fully, might be ADA issues with doing that or if they will at least build a roof/open shelter) as far as such a short platform can be.
