The Archbishop’s Residence at 1555 North State Parkway - built in 1885.

In a novel, that takes place in Chicago in the 40s and 50s, titled Jack Gance by Ward Just, a man living in an apartment building across the street, enjoys spying on the Cardinal, when he would leave from and return to his mansion, while drinking his martini, and listening to show tunes; as he looked down on the "House of 19 Chimneys."

There still remains a low stone wall on the North Blvd side, that I used to walk on, in the 40s, on my way to the North Ave beach and the Questionmark pier.

It is an interesting building and history.
