If anyone remembers American Can, at the front entrance it had a tower, which we called it a watchman,s tower because back in the hay days a watchman would sit in there a watch for possible fires etc. They could see the entire roof of the first floor.

American Can may have been 5 stories high, however, it had 2 basements. One regular basement and then a sub basement that only the employees would know.

The only frozen pizza that is made from one of the best pizzarias back in the 60's is Home Run Inn, however, I never tried the frozen pizza. Back then they had 16 people working in the kitchen. It was a great place to take your date.

Double Drive in was pretty nice and close to our favorite food back then, White Castles on 71st and Western.

The south side was easy to travel through with with number streets ie 48th St 55th St, however, the North side all street names and you had to know how far north each street ment IE 3000 North 5400 North. Just a thought.

St Michaels was a good school even by todays standards. A lot of good times and memories.

When I started with American Can some of the older woman would be on piece work stamping out lid covers for our 50 & 110 LB. cans. Woooow and they were fast. Don't have the person feeding them sheet metal slow them down or else. A tough group of ladies.LOL

Jeff, You have a good memory about my brick collecting. Your right they are pretty easy to store roughly about 110 bricks. LOL

The Starlite was another great drive-in. Plus they had go karts. I belonged to a Rock and Roll and music for all occasion band called the Royal Crests in the 60's and every Monday after practice we would go Go Karting.
