until watching that video of the trains in action i thought that they were long abandoned from a time when there was still industry in the area.it's awesome that the tracks are still in uses

I live down the street from the Lansing Motel, I'm not sure it has that cyberis type atmosphere... it's just some little shacks hidden off the side of the road that people go to for smoking crack or spending the evening with a hooker...

i've always wondered what ever occupied this area. it's such a large piece of land to go undeveloped. from google earth you can see what looks to be old roads and large expanses of concrete in places. does anyone know what was ever there?

does anybody have any information on the large victorian house on the northeast corner of south shore drive and cheltenham place. i think the address is 7847 s. south shore drive. i drive past it all the time and i'm constantly impressed by it. it seems really out of place compared to all the other houses in the area.
