Bruce and Bwalsh Do I understand right, that you feel the gate is not the correct site of the old house? I used google map to use street view and the gate pictured is just west of devils creek on the north side of GCR. It sure appears to be in the correct place to me.

Re the house on German Church Road. Apparently the wood gate to the driveway is still there with a chain on it. If you use Google maps you can actually use street view to go just a little west of the site where they were found and see the gate to the drive. The foundation is still there. There are several sites online that show pics of the gate.

My mother used to live on Long ave just a little ways down the road from Bachelor's grove in the 40's. The original old driveway was a lover's lane back then. She wasn't even aware that there were any ghost legends about the area until I told her about it in the 70's. She just said there was an old farm house at the end of the lane that an old man lived in and he used to scare them.

I saw Roy rogers and Dale Evans at one of the stock shows / rodeos. they were pretty old by this time and I was very disappointed because they entered the arena in a jeep instead of on horses. I'm sure Trigger was already gone by this time. I think it was about 1967.

My friend and I used to skate at Oak Lawn Roller rink regularly. I remember one evening we were watching the new Batman TV show and her dad kept asking us if we wanted to go skating. We opted to stay and watch the show. That was the night that the tornado hit. We could see it from our home. It was terrifying.
