Hello, I'm long-time reader but I rarely post in here. I was digging up some ancestry research and found that a relative of mine used to live at 814 Edgecomb Place supposedly. I can't find any records of this street existing, even though I am told she was born in Chicago and lived her whole life on the north side. Does any know if this street ever existed in the city? I used to work on Bryn Mawr just west of Cumberland. I once attended a convention in Rosemont, and then thought I would walk back to the office down Bryn Mawr. Well I hit the forest preserve, got incredibly muddy, and failed to cross the Des Plaines River. A little off-topic, but you mentioned Camp Owassippe. That camp is still there and run by the Chicago Area Council. Even though it is in Michigan, the run it on CST due to all of the Chicago-area campers there. I was there as a camper and have gone a couple times in recent years in the fall for personal camping. Wow! You must have a reverse directory from that time period handy; that sure was quick and accurate. My father remembers staying with his grandfather Morris there quite well (If you look closely on the original, you can see my great-grandfather through the window cutting someone's hair).
