I'm restoring a greystone and would like to give it a "classic" exterior. I have been having a hard time finding historical pictures with any greystones in the background to use as a reference. Sadly most of these homes have been changed over the years and it is very rare to see one with original fixtures, doors, etc. Any ideas?

Based on the map above the intersection in question would have been the northwest corner of camp ground, I am assuming that the street outlined in bold that goes through the Ill. Central tracks is denoting the Elevated line and is 63rd St??

The handrail is also what is throwing me off. I do believe that this was her actual tent/living quarters while on tour. It seems that Buffalo Bill set up his show in proximity to the fair to cash in on the crowds, but was not officially a fair attraction so that might throw a wrench in the Hunters camp theory. Hmm, the building in the 1904 picture looks similiar to the one in the 1909 pic, however there are a few differences between the two. I wonder if the 1904 building was renovated and elongated and is the same one in the 1909 picture.

Theres use to be one on 44th and Western, it had a cannon on the side lawn. I attended a couple wedding receptions there , it was a nice hall not your typical VFW hall. It is now a church.

Yeah def. seems like a stretch seeing as how there were about a dozen other homes between the "Castle" and the intersection in question. Its more likely that the rubble was used as fill to build up the embankment. Still curious though as to how that particular stone ended up there.

The Accadia has been long gone since the 70's I think. On another note The Harper Theater in Hyde Park has gone a complete renovation and brought back to life.
