I am AGAPE! LOL,,mY GOSH fRANK, I think i will start collecting postcards from now on~ WOW I am well aware of the Masonic Temple there on Grand. Ive always liked its facade. Ill take comparison pics and post them..So we do have a mystery on our hands concerning the 'V' eh? Could it have something to do with the builders?

Here you go Frank and everyone..7172 W. Grand.(whats left of it) The intersection of Grand and Harlem ave. As you can see there is a 'V' adornment as well and here just down the street from 6967-69 Grand . I find this to be very interesting. Frank we have a mystery. http://flic.kr/p/8Da61L http://flic.kr/p/8Da5Y5 http://flic.kr/p/8Da5Zj

FRANK there you are, good to see you 'how ya doin'?!? Thanks for the input,,i am very familiar with the Chicago building 'Y' emblems around town. I question the 'V' because there is a building right down the street at Grand and Harlem that has a 'V' emblem as well and from the same time period. Ill post those pics ASAP. 222 glad you liked the pix,,good to see you too my friend. By the way ,t

Can anyone explain exactly what the 'V' represents on this building? You see it a lot on Chicago structures. http://www.flickr.com/photos/49039954@N05/5000647393/in/photostream/

i Love the 1920s Chicago architecture. Any comments? What might that huge pipe have been used for at the corner of the building? Also, what does the 'V' stand for that you see on many old buildings from that period? Im sure Frank can expand on that. http://www.flickr.com/photos/49039954@N05/5001249210/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/49039954@N05/5000647581/in/photostream/ http://www.flickr.com/

Just noticed the other day while passing that some JERK spray painted what seems to be gang graffiti on the black front doors.

Hi Frank, that's correct I did grow up on Harding. 1530s block~one half block south of North ave. Pioneer Bowling alley was directly across the alley from us and Apollo was/is across the street from Pioneer bowling alley.

Glad you all enjoyed the pics my friends. 222, that isn't the door within the yard area. It is the one in the alley closest to School ave. I have to say that the building looks very good now. I will take updated photos soon.

Hi all,,sorry for the delay and silence..Life gets in the way i suppose. These pics were taken on April 9th. This crew did a great job in repairs and modest renovation. http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4015/http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4071/4691484277_b8f8cede14.jpg4691483709_4867c09a3d.jpg

I recently drove past this beautiful building of old. I haven't done any research on it but it has all the markings of the Art Deco period (which i have always loved). Any thoughts or comments, old photos? http://www.flickr.com/photos/metroblossom/445716806/page2/
