Thanks. I didn't realize at the time there were 3 dog tracks in the area. I did find one site with a ticket to the track. I am just completely fascinated by anything to do with 1920's Chicago. I think primarily because I live near Mount Carmel Cemetery. Lots of rivals in life and neighbors in death.

Has any one have any info on this? There is a sign at Mannheim and Lawrence in referring to a dog track being at that location.

My mother grew up in the parish and lived there till the 40's. She, my uncles and cousins were married there. Last time we were in the neighborhood was in 1984 for my cousin's wedding which occurred right after the crying Madonna incident. Mom lived on Throop street and my aunt and uncle lived on Elizabeth. Their houses have since been torn down. Mom is now 90 and I can not wait to take her to

My husband's uncle died in the fire. There is a memorial at Queen of Heaven cemetery in Hillside.

Don't know of any lone grave sites, but there are 3 little graveyards near where I live that are kinda interesting. The first is the Glos Cemetery in Elmhurst the second is the Old Settlers Cemetery in Berkeley and third is Boeger Cemetery in the parking lot of Yorktown Mall. There are 2 others that also may be of interest. One is the Glos Mausoleum in downtown Elmhurst and the other is Butler C
