I was shocked to hear that they tore it down. My parents brought me there regularly in the mid to late 50's.I guess that it does no help when there are to many hospitals close together. In 1972, it was a life saver to many of the victims of the train collision in front of the 27 th street IC station just north of the hospital. workers from the hospital were some of the first rescuers at the scene.

Does anyone remember the factory at I thin 48th and Halsted. They always seemed to be hiring in the 70's to mid 80's. I remember it was a short name, no more than 5 letters long. I worked there for a few months in 1984 or 5
