No bonfires the weekend we were there. Everything was wet and muddy on Satutday, and frozen on Sunday. Breakfast bacon really smelled good on the pot belly stove.

My boy scout troop from Englewood Methodist church at 64th and Stewart went to camp Fort Dearborn in 1955. My school was the Lewis_Champlain at 320 W. Englewood Ave. (62nd St.) The land is now the playing field for Englewood High School.

During the seventies, I had several friends who lived on a couple of them. One had a large piano. There was a houseboat that we used as a clubhouse we called the "North Branch Yacht Club" It had running water during the summer (a hose from the nearby factory with owners approval) and a telephone.
