The swap meet has changed from previous years. It was Saturday and Sunday this year. Nothing was there until Friday evening starting with registration and then an auction. The Dupage county fairgrounds is in June every year. Here is the website for the club. http://antique-radios.org/

Rich, I remember going to the dentist at 51st & Damen upstairs on the second floor.(northwest corner)There was a small bowling alley across the hall from the dentist. There is still a dime store up and running at 6318 S. Pulaski called J & R Variety store. It has the old creaky wooden floors. I stop in a few times a year. Great stuff that brings back memories. My Father in Law owned it from around 1960 until it closed in the mid 80's. We have the old 1910 Brunswick pool table from there in our basement. The softball team he sponsored was "Al's Pal's".I helped him clean out the place when he sold it to some guy,who used it to store old fridges,stoves...etc.There were two apartments upstairs that shared a bathroom in the hall.

A.A. Bottling Co.made Hydrox soda for Certified Grocers,it was at 5251 S.Millard. They also made Squirt,Dr.Pepper,& Green River in the 60's.Half the building collapsed around 1966? My Father worked there for over 20 years. It closed in 1983

I too learned at St. Basil...just as you described. I went to school there also. Graduated in 1973. Went from K-8 grades. That was great fun every Sunday evening,leaving there all sweated up from the skating. We lived at 5542 S.
