My aunt gave it to us and we had it well into the 1970's. We used to tie it onto the outside of the front porch banister. I think it finally started to fall apart from different factors. It was actually two hollow halves that were stapled together along an outside seam and it was lit from the inside with a surprisingly small light bulb.
