Does anyone know what the large facility shown below on Google Maps is? In case the link doesn't work, it's just to the East of the railroad tracks, at 104th and Harvard. It appears to be some sort of City of Chicago facility, as evidenced by the "Y"-device on the front door. There also appears to be a large, more modern annex to the South. A pumping station of some kind, perhaps?

You are right, it's the Roseland Pumping Station. Here's a postcard view:

Great; thanks for the quick reply! That's a great view, with the locomotive backed up to the loading dock.

I believe this is the same "pump" where we went swimming. There was a really small old firehouse around the corner from it on 104th pl. or 105th.

The pool was right next to the pumping station. The sign on the building said: Griffith Municipal Natatorium, but we all called it "the pump".
