Mayflower Donuts?

I remember riding the el as a child & passing the sign that said:
"As you wander on through life Brother
Whatever be your goal
Keep your eye upon the donut
And not upon the hole."
Was it Mayflower Donuts, when was it torn down, anyone remember this?
