Street Preacher in Des Plaines

Does anybody remember a man who preached with a bible in his hand standing on the corner of Rand and River Rd in Des Plaines? He stood at this corner for many years in the late 1960's thru early 80's. He stood on the median on the north side of River Rd. As a kid sitting in the back seat when driving by that location he would almost always be standing there preaching out loud. I was told he had another intersection in the same area he preached also.

Yeah, he was a Greek gentleman. Sometimes we'd see him over near Lee and Algonquin too, and I remember that he got arrested for being a public nuisance.

Thanks for the answer. After posting this topic and reading what you wrote I found this 1991 Chicago Tribune article about him. http://articles.chicagotribune.com/1991-07-24/news/9103220380_1_preacher-arrests-city-attorney
