Morning Fields - Park Ridge

Can anybody provide any info on Morning Fields. While driving down Devon I saw the store and stopped in. The signage indicated produce, bakery, meats etc. I was disappointed with what I found. The store appeared to be a shell of what may have been/ Along one wall labeled market, was completely empty except for few baskets of vegetables. The center of the store had all empty shelving. Unless I was missing something, they must have a select core of customers to stay in business.

Was this ever a thriving business? What happened?

I haven't been there in years, but it used to be a pretty cool market, with things you couldn't buy most other places. Apparently there has been a lot of owner turnover.
The building on the other side of the parking lot (now Boston Market) used to house Gardiner's, a bed/bath store where you could buy fancy soap, etc.
