It was one of Chicago's first CO OP buildings per the Chicago Trib "South Shore Flats Will be Sold as 'Co-Op'." Chicago Daily Tribune (1923-1963): 1. Mar 05 1939. ProQuest. Web. 29 Mar. 2013

Called the Realtor on some units and she said all the actions on the West Side.

This is not pertinent to your question, however, in my opinion, one could not have had a finer view, more than 40 years ago, of the city and lake shore, than from the high windows at 7447 South Shore Drive.

Another nice building along the lake is one of Loyola's University dorms at 1000 West Loyola. The east side of the building has some nice window views.
