The Art Institute of Chicago has four of his paintings, and their web site shows three, however, none are currently on display. Only one painting, with the title "North Avenue Market" (1932) is a Chicago scene, and seems to be one of his early style.
I first became interested in his artwork shown as an illustration in a book; the painting has the title "The Elevated At Night"; a winter night scene of an El platform at Halsted and North.
Unfortunately, I have not seen any of his paintings in an art museum or gallery. Some of his Chicago paintings that I have seen are on various web sites, and those that I especially like, are in the list here:
North Avenue Market, 1932
North Avenue Beach, 1933 (two paintings)
Burlesque at the Rialto, 1935
Halsted Street, Chicago, 1935 (at the Whitney Museum of American Art)
View of the Chicago River
Lakeview, 1935
The Haircut, 1936
North Clark Street, 1938 (two paintings)
House in South Chicago, 1942
Oakdale Avenue at Night, 1942
