If you haven't done so, make sure you read Patrick McBriarty's excellent new article detailing the unbuilt 12th Street bridge, recently posted on the FC home page.

Additionally, Patrick will be giving a fascinating (and free!) presentation on Chicago's long history of bridges on Tuesday, February 18 at 6:00 pm at the Harold Washington Library Center. From the library’s web site:

Patrick McBriarty, author of Chicago River Bridges, will provide a multimedia presentation on Chicago’s bridges and recount his journey into this amazing topic of innovation, design, and major contributions by Chicagoans to moveable bridge technology. The Windy City has long been a center for drawbridge development making Chicago the Drawbridge Capital of the World, and the greatest working drawbridge museum of any city on earth. Afterward he will be available to answer questions and sign copies of the his book Chicago River Bridges.
