Well, it seems to have barely survived the construction of the Kennedy; it's right next to it!
It's partly boarded up on streetview (picture date May 2014). It may soon be gone one day.

Here is some additional info I found on this building.
This building was the Chicago Commons Building.

This building was just boarded up last year. In the 2013 Google street view there is a sign up over the entrance on the corner. It looks like the building will be rehabbed for condos and townhomes along with some new construction just south of this building.

Streetview now shows the building with a sign saying Bennett Day school coming soon.

[b]We did the Sunday services there in the 80's. There was a lot of old time furniture upstairs. The Gospel League Home moved in with the Pacific Garden mission on 14th & canal st.[/b]
