Reason is..I found an old teeny tiny 1 1/2 inch, includes the bale for key chain I suppose, folding knife with 'faux' mother of pearl sides with the red lettering of Rinaldo Tailors CH.8286 on one side. Im sure this was an advertising piece, just want to know more. Thanks in advance.

I'm guessing in the late 50's, but maybe someone more knowledgeable can comment - I have my (late) old neighbors phone from '55 and it has something like 'Hyde Park-XXXX' listed as the number.

I did a random check of Chicago phone books from 1937 to 1962. Didn't find a Rinaldo Taylors. Also checked a couple suburban phone books. Doesn't mean it isn't from Chicago, just haven't found it. It could be from Chicago city/suburbs, it could be from another large metro area. Can you post a photo of it?

Are you sure it's from someplace in Chicago? The CH may refer to an abbreviation before the numbers. When I was little, our phone number started with "Bayport 1" which was abbreviated to "BA 1".

I just did a general search on Google for "Rinaldo Tailors." There is a vintage jacket listed on Etsy which was made by Rinaldo Tailors. If this is the same place, it appears to have been in St. Louis.

Do the Google search and see what you think...if it is the same one.

You've got me curious now!;)
