I have a lot of info on the Bloomingdale Line.
I grew up in that area, both in Wicker Park and Bucktown. In the 50's, there was a car storage yard just adjacent to Damen ave parallel to Willow st and ending at Hoyne. It is now covered with homes and condos. I can't recall how many tracks there were, maybe 5 or 6.
There was a long spur off the North mainline running East to Winchester through Churchill field. The industry was a snuff factory.
This started out as the Chicago Pacific railroad at Chicago and Larabee Sts. There's a lot more info available on that.

No I didn't miss that one or the others.
Quite a history on this line. There were a lot of industries along the line. I'm planning a trip to the city and intend to "explore" more West of Western av.
I am a little disapointed in the lack of decent maps around the early to mid 50's.

The former grade crossing at the UP/Metra tracks, and the Kennedy Expressway overhead would make for a problematic route to the North Branch. And the low deck of that swing span would make it impossible to cross the river. Still, the proponents of making this a hiking trail seem hellbent on getting to the river's edge, despite it still being an industrial area with no cross path.
