Reminds of my Great-Grandmother's Hardware store at 2741 + 2743 N. Southport (off the alley S of Diversey)
She died in 1962 and the store got sealed off and used for storage by her children for years.
Eventually the 2741 bldg was sold, but the stuff inside the main store off the alley stayed untouched until the latter half of the '70s.
