from historic aerial views, Weed ended at Larrabee. This pix looks like its a view north, with the guys standing on the NW corner of Weed and Ogden. A 62' view shows what looks like a hamburger stand (....chman's) on the east side of Ogden almost directly under the L tracks. The guy leaning up against that cement post is probably a support post for fencing around the brush under and next to the L tracks. (brush that still looks like it exists today)
the dramatic shadows cast from the three guys standing suggests the street lamp overhead, car headlights approaching from North Ave, moving south on Ogden, or maybe from what was a very brightly lit intersection of North/Ogden/Larrabee.
a 73' view shows Ogden Ave in place, but an 88' view shows Ogden gone and the ball field in place. So, in the course of the 15 yr span, the entire area was practically cleared out, except for the "EL"...
