I just came across this website, which I think will be of interest to many people here. It allows users to crowdsource vintage photos of cities and creates an overlay in Google Streetview for comparisons. If anybody has stacks of old photos around (especially of the neighborhoods), start uploading!
I've been uploading like an obsessed maniac for the past couple weeks. Blanketed the northwest side with anything I could find. Somebody else needs to step up and fill in the rest of the city, I'm exhausted.
checked out the site; found several serious inaccuracies as to photo locations
most important there apperd to be no way to comment or add info to tje site

I noticed the "northside 777" still where Jimmy Stewart exits the subway in search of "Wanda"...the location is the 700 block of south State..not 700 North state...there was a long thread on "777" a while back on this forum
Jimmy Stewart exits the now defunct and paved over south exit of the Harrison stop @ Polk St on the Red Line...
The site only launched a few weeks ago, I am told that they are in the process of updating the interface to make it more user-friendly and give feedback on particular photos. Also keep in mind that alignment can't always be 100% exact, since we are held to the perspective that the Google Streetview car takes the photo from.
Thanks for the tip regarding the "Call Northside 777" still, I will fix it right now.
