My father graduated in 1926 from The Hoffman Preparatory School located at 1537 N. Robey St. I now know that Robey became Damen. Any information about the school would be appreciated.

The building is still there, but I can't tell you much about the school except what I have gleaned from the internet.
S.A. Hoffman was a lawyer. He started the school in 09,by one account it was for legal, pre-dental and pre-medical training, although one of his ads mention trade schools. It appears to be for the most part a night school type of operation.
He ran the school til 1928 or '29 and he died in the 50s

The building was built around 1884.
