Back in the 60s we would take the Grand ave bus to the end of the line
by Lake Michigan.There was a water bracker that ran out maybe the lenght of
a football field? For .50 cents a guy in a rowboat would take you about fifty
feet to the pier. When we were done he would pick us up. You can't find that

I was on that water breaker as well back in the mid 1960's. Bob did you ever go up on the observation walk along Navy Pier? It was above the warehouse, the length of the pier.

We used to go down there to watch the ships unload. It was a big treat for us. All of the amusement park stuff there now is boring to me in comparison.

I agree with you Dunning1. My Dad and I would make a day of it. You always knew when the ships were unloading barrels of olives. You could smell it in the air. Remember Rocky's Fish House?
