There is a very "Chicago" reason why there is only one house on Redwood which is in Chicago as opposed to Harwood Heights: That house once belonged to James R. Conlisk, Superintendent of the Chicago Police Department. Apparently he and his wife wanted to live out there on the far northwest side. But, as a high-ranking city official he had to live in the city. So the City Council simply annexed his lot.

It's good to have clout.

I ALWAYS wanted to know this. I for the longest time was going to physically go and ask the homeowner. Thanks!!!
