I have read the e-book version of West of Goose Island by Richard S. Post; it is an enjoyable, fun read!

I'll have to pick it up - my father & family lived on Throop just off North Ave. in the '50s, which couldn't have been idyllic.

Lucky to get a signed copy at Janik's on Divison this past Saturday before the Back of the Yards FC presentation. Met the author, nice guy. Included with the book was a clothes pin and a card. Nice touch.

Finished the book in one sitting during the snowfall yesterday. It was a good read.

My mother's parents lived on the west side of Goose Island in the 1890s and early 1900s; and I'm sure they attended the church's that the author mentions.
